A sailing tradition that goes back a century
Fraglia Vela Riva is the oldest club on Lake Garda, founded almost a century ago in 1928.
Its iconic clubhouse is located on the waterfront in Riva del Garda, next to the harbour, the Spiaggia degli Olivi and the Rocca. The building was designed by Giancarlo Maroni, the same architect responsible for the Spiaggia degli Olivi and the hydroelectric power plant, as well ad the Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone.
Every year Fraglia Vela Riva hosts over 20 sailing events, including several European and International Championships, but it is perhaps best known for the Lake Garda Meeting Optimist, which holds the Guinness World Record for the largest single class regatta in the world, with 1055 young helmsmen taking part in 2012!
During the Youth Worlds, Fraglia Vela Riva will be the home of the ILCA6.
